Cartoon Family Guy Characters

The winning ways of cartoon characters endear them to children as well as to adults. Their antics, bad lucks and good lucks make us laugh and sometimes cry. It’s very easy to relate to them and with their adventures. Examples of these cartoon characters are the cartoon Family Guy characters-Peter, Lois, Stevie, Meg, Chris and Brian (the family dog). They are the Griffin family.

The animated sitcom Family Guy is the brainchild of Seth MacFarlane and created for Fox Broadcasting Company.  The situational comedy centers around the Griffins family and their anthropomorphic pet, and set in Quahog, Rhode Island.  The series presents many of its buffoonery and comic situations in cutaway gaps that frequently satirize American culture.

Peter Griffin: Peter is the principal character of Family Guy. He speaks in a grating New England accent and carries on as though he’s the smartest guy in town. The truth is, he is absolutely naïve and mixed-up. He loves the bottle and can be found very often at the Drunken Clam with buddies Cleveland, Quagmire and Joe. His most notable achievement is a running fight with an oversized, yellow chicken.  

Lois Griffin: Pretty Lois is the wife of Peter. She came from a moneyed clan, the Pewterschmidts, who were against her marrying Peter. She was once a model, an accomplished pianist and Quagmire, Peter’s best friend, lust after her. She may be more urbane than her husband, but she shares Peter’s crude humor and lustful appetite.    

Stewie Griffin: Stewie is the wicked and diabolical baby of Family Guys who repeatedly plots to destroy his mother, Lois. Although he’s portrayed as highly intelligent, he’s curiously very fond of Rupert, his teddy bear. With seemingly innocent comments he inadvertently admits to being a homosexual.

Brian Griffin: Brian is the Griffin’s dog and seems to be the most intelligent and levelheaded of all the Family Guy characters, although he still pees on the carpet in front of Lois. He lusts secretly for Lois but has a girlfriend of his own, Jillian. Brian and Stewie frequently lock horns with each other or bond together in extreme situations. They are often shown singing duets.

Meg Griffin: Meg is Peter’s and Lois’ daughter and is usually the laughingstock of the Family Guy. She is not pretty and is portrayed as a down-and-outer. Peter got to know Meg better when his driver’s license was cancelled and Meg became his driver. Her one “shining moment” was in an episode where she had a make-over, became a sex symbol and lost her virginity on live TV.

Chris Griffin: Chris is the eldest child of Peter and Lois. He’s not a very bright lad but he’s a talented rock star and artist. He idolizes Peter and blindly follows him in many cataclysmic situations. One of Chris’ oddities is his fear of a mad monkey in his closet.
